Alice MacKenzie

Alice has written an account of life in New Zealand’s most remote settlement in her book ‘Pioneers of Martins Bay – Life in New Zealand’s Most Remote Settlement’. Her granddaughter Alice Margaret Leaker has compiled a revised edition (published in 2006).  The book is highly recommended and gives a very interesting insight into the life and times of those brave, hardy  pioneers

Don Long has written a book “What Alice Saw” that is a must see.
