Norman McKenzie, MM

For his actions in October 1918 leading a contingent of troops from the First Battalion Auckland Regiment on the front line in France, Norman was awarded the Military Medal “for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty”. In the citation it is stated “…the manner in which he commanded his men without thought of his own safety inspired all under his command to a remarkable degree.”
